Germoloids Suppositories - Key Information
What Are Germoloids Suppositories?
Germoloids Suppositories are a medicated treatment for haemorrhoids (piles), which can cause pain, swelling, and irritation in or around the anus. These suppositories are designed to provide relief from internal haemorrhoids, making it easier and more comfortable to go to the toilet.
How Do Germoloids Suppositories Work?
Each suppository contains zinc oxide and lidocaine, two active ingredients that work together to reduce swelling and pain:
- Zinc oxide helps shrink haemorrhoids by tightening the skin and reducing inflammation.
- Lidocaine is a local anaesthetic that numbs the area, easing discomfort and irritation.
What Are the Benefits of Using Germoloids Suppositories?
Haemorrhoids can make everyday activities uncomfortable, especially when using the toilet. Germoloids Suppositories soothe pain and swelling, making it easier to go about your day. By reducing irritation and providing pain relief, this treatment helps you feel more comfortable and get back to normal faster.

- Prepare for application by gently cleaning and drying the area.
- Remove one suppository from the strip by tearing along the perforation.
- Peel open the blister pack and carefully remove the suppository.
- Insert the suppository into the anus with the round end first.
This treatment helps relieve discomfort and reduce swelling in internal haemorrhoids, making it easier to go to the toilet.
Dosage
What is the recommended dosage?
For best results, insert one suppository into the anus:
- At bedtime
- In the morning, ideally after a bowel movement
If needed, you can use another dose during the day, but:
- Wait at least 3 to 4 hours between doses
- Do not use more than 4 suppositories in 24 hours
Always follow the instructions provided in the patient information leaflet to ensure safe and effective use.
