Our ViMask is a Type IIR mask with a Visor. It is fully compliant to EN 14683 TYPE IIR and EN 166 for PPE Visor/Eye protection. The ViMask has been developed to provide Particulate Filtration Efficiency (PFE) >98%.

This is a 0.1micron particle filtration at 99.9%. Blood fluid resistance (BFR) of 160mmHg (Exceeds TYPE IIR at only 120mmHg) and bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) of 99%. These high protection levels mean that it holds an ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) Level 3 which exceeds EN14683 Type IIR.

More information

The TGL ViMask is a pioneering Type IIR medical procedure mask which is comfortable and breathable and offers the unique feature that it combines a 3-ply medical mask with an inbuilt visor. It also incorporates a module nose seal, so it can be moulded to the face and provide the best anti fog protection.

The ViMask comprises four layers which are made up of non-woven fabric, 99% melt-blown fabric and microfibre non-woven material. It also contains a hypoallergenic inner layer. The mask also contains a visor which protects the eyes. The outer box is QR coded with full-certification and specification details.

Each mask measures 180mm x 180mm.

You can clean the visor to maintain a clear screen, however the mask should not be reused after it has been removed, unless it has been removed in the correct way. Care must be taken when removing  the mask to prevent contamination of the inside.

UK Meds' type IIR surgical masks are 3-ply surgical face masks, which are used to prevent infected droplets from entering the respiratory system of either the healthcare professional or the patient. They have a convenient ear loop fastening.

The product is classified as a medical respirator because it is a type IIR mask, which has been rigorously tested against the relevant quality standards. UK Meds type IIR masks have been rigorously tested and meet EN:14683 which is a European Standard which specifies the construction and performance requirements and test methods for surgical masks.

The UK Meds type IIR mask is primarily intended for use by healthcare professionals in an operating room and other medical settings. The mask has a bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) of 99% and unlike other European Type IIR masks, they also pass at a high rate of particle filtration efficiency (PFE) at 99.8%, which exceeds the industry standard of 98%.

The mask also has a splash resistance rating of >120%mmHg, which is the test that is used to determine the resistance penetration of potentially contaminated fluid splashes. The 120mmHg refers to the average systolic blood pressure of blood being pumped around the body.

Essentially the ViMask is a Type IIR surgical face mask with the addition of a visor which is conveniently built into the mask.
